"The Requin" has been wrongly categorized under the "shark attack" genre. That’s like categorizing "Frozen" under the "wolf attack" genre. No, that movie was mainly about 3 friends stranded in a chairlift at a mountain at night, while this one is mainly about a couple (Jaelyn & Kyle) stranded in the middle of the ocean on what’s left of their cabin after a storm. They’re both resourceful and their back-and-forth is adorable, which is why they’re more likable than the protagonists you usually find in this type of stories. Unfortunately, the visual effects are bad, and so are Alicia Silverstone and James Tupper's performances.
